It's about uncovering true human connections, and creating memorable experiences, that bind us to the products and services we love. I'm happiest when I get to do this in collaboration with my amazing clients.
THE APPROACH //
Jennifer Merio is a graduate of Alberta College of Art and Design, now Alberta University for the Arts, and has been working in the Creative Communications and Strategies field for over 20 years. Her roles have evolved from Art Director to Accounts Director, Client Partner to Brand Director. She has worked at many of the top advertising agencies in Calgary, including Evans Hunt, Trigger Communications, and Venture Communications. Jennifer has been intricately involved in launching, growing, and building brands of various sizes, across all industries, including Oil and Gas, Private Education, Canada’s Beef Cattle Industry, the Alcohol Industry, Restaurants and Retail, Non-Profit, Performing Arts, and many other specialized services.
A storyteller by trade, Jennifer is a design solutions expert, focusing on experiential marketing to help businesses become stronger brands. She is responsible for the overall creative vision of the work. Results are successfully delivered through targeted discovery and analysis, insightful audience profiling, stakeholder and employee engagement, persuasive content writing, executed with a clean design aesthetic. She works closely with her clients to craft their stories, solve their business problems, and uncover the ‘why’ in all they do.
Since January 2012, Jennifer has been part of the faculty at Alberta University for the Arts as a Sessional Instructor, teaching her typography and graphic design expertise. In 2020, she joined the Continuing Education Faculty of the University of Calgary, teaching online, Introduction to Typography.
In addition to her professional marketing and communications career, Jennifer has been an improv and stage actress for over 25 years, with producer and stage director credits added in the past 5 years. She has planned and hosted live events, both scripted and unscripted. Jennifer has appeared in a variety of professional and community theatre productions throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.
